Completely in line with these principles, Besson Chaussures focuses on eco-design and is working on eco-designed models in collaboration with MAOBI X ADEME for its Alternative brand.
This process encompasses every aspect of the product through a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), including raw materials, manufacturing, packaging, end-of-life, and distribution. For its eco-designed shoes, Besson Chaussures relies on recycled raw materials (polyester, cardboard, foam rubber, microfiber, rubber, cork, etc.) and, for leather, on LWG-certified tanneries. This quality standard ensures transparency and traceability of tanneries as well as a reduction in water and hazardous substances. Besson Shoes' eco-design also encompasses numerous other criteria, such as the use of water-based glue, the elimination of plastic toe caps, and the subscription to green energy contracts, for example.
